A Drop in the Ocean is deeply concerned with reports stating that a large number of refugees are on their way from Turkey to Europe. This will strongly affect Greece and the Greek islands, who are already struggling with an overload of people living in refugee camps.

The tense situation on Lesbos has developed in a way, that makes it difficult for A Drop in the Ocean to continue our activities in Moria Village, for the time being. However, our activities inside Moria Refugee camp will continue as usual.
Refugees demonstrates against new asylum law
On Monday, February 3, a group of Moria refugee–camp protesters were met with tear gas by Greek police forces. While some local politicians are calling for government action to better safeguard the refugees, others show less understanding of the refugees’ situation and the relief efforts being made by A Drop in the Ocean, among others.
