A Drop in the Ocean has delivered 275 bottles of sunscreen and 250 bottles of mosquito repellent to the boys in section A and B in Moria Camp. The sunscreen and mosquito repellent was much appreciated.
We often talk about how demanding it is to live in a refugee camp during the winter, but summer is not much better. Summer has arrived in Greece, with temperatures around 35 degrees and the sun is blazing hot.
Imagine that you live in a suffocatingly hot tent or isobox and the sun burns so strongly outside that you get sunburned just by leaving your home. The only thing that can give a little shade and breeze is the olive trees and riverbeds that runs through the camp. The relief of the shade they provide is short-lived, as they are also the cause of another nuisance as soon as the sun goes down. The olive trees and riverbeds are places where the mosquitoes thrive and makes it almost unbearable to be outdoors in the evening.
Sunscreen and mosquito repellent are things we all take for granted when summer comes around, but this is not the case for the children in Moria.

The boys really appreciated the sunscreen and mosquito repellent, and told us it has been hard to sleep at night because of all the mosquitos in their rooms.
