Internship Programme

A Drop in the Ocean are pleased to announce our 2019 internship programme, with a variety of roles across all of our sites, available for people who are currently completing or have recently completed a relevant academic qualification. We are creating a platform for someone looking to develop their current skills or to begin a humanitarian career, providing broad foundational knowledge and practical experience in an international NGO environment.

By: Milli Cockroft, Recruitment Coordinator, Greece

Each intern will follow a 9 month programme (6 months may also be considered) with a change of location every 3 months, where possible. Every intern who does not already have a reporting requirement from their academic institution will produce a report during their internship that will inform A Drop in the Ocean’s operation. The report topic will be approved by A Drop in the Ocean with input from the successful candidates (and/or their academic institution) prior to the beginning of the internship.

Four role categories:

We have four role categories available, but in some cases there are multiple vacancies in the same role. Applicants who do not receive funding from their academic institution are eligible to receive financial assistance for their accommodation expenses up to €300.
Please note that all interns must provide a criminal record check and complete a pre-arrival online training course. A Drop in the Ocean is unable to provide visa assistance for interns who are not currently registered with an academic institution.
This years deadline have past, but we will be back with more information when we have available internships.
Interviews will be conducted with shortlisted applicants in late August and successful candidates will be expected to begin their role in September.
