Yesterday, Shara and I (Trude) had the opportunity to visit Bahez, Bayan and Nabaz in Zurich. Almost three months have passed since they were brought from Greece to Switzerland. Both Bahez and his mother have gone through more surgeries and treatment in Switzerland, and young Bahez is just recently out of hospital. Their recovery is amazing!
We are in need of long-term volunteers
A Drop in the Ocean has many dedicated volunteers that contribute to help refugees that have come to Greece. Many travel over and over, and some spend a long time working in the field.
An Update from the Drop-in Centre in Athens
A Drop in the Ocean´s Drop-in Centre in Athens has now been open for almost three months. During this period, the Centre has helped asylum seekers that have been given relocation to Norway to take their first steps into the Norwegian language and culture. The Centre has been visited frequently, and many have appreciated its presence.
Creativity knows no bounds in Nea Kavala
As I enter the DropShop market this Tuesday morning, I am greeted by a cheerful Syrian woman. She is on her weekly shopping trip and is taking her time. The woman is seven months pregnant and has just learned she is carrying a little girl. She adds a pink onesie to her shopping basket.
